This page consists of up to 50 profiles of people in this database. Each profile can contain information about that person's parents, spouses, and children, if we know about them, with links to the profiles of those people. And for deceased family members, we have posted whatever we know about their births, marriages, and deaths, along with notes and sometimes their occupations.
For best results, we suggest you start with a known family member, and either use your browser's find tool to find the person you are looking for, or look for their name in our name index. Once you find them, click on their name, and that will take you to that person's profile. Then, as you read that person's profile, you can click on the names of their parents, spouses and children to obtain more information about these immediate relatives by visiting their profiles.
Note that the people on this page are not listed in any logical order, and the fact that any two people are on this page or that their profiles are next to each other only means that their database ID numbers happen to be close, but that has nothing to do with how closely related they are to each other. Sometimes immediate relatives will happen to be next to each other on these pages, but that is not something that can be counted on. For the best results, please follow the instructions provided above for browsing the tree.

DEATH NOTE: Additional information from Return of Deaths: Nellie Cowell, white female, age 25 years, parents David and Mrs. Frame, residence of parents is Indiana. "Michigan, Deaths, 1867-1897," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/N3N8-M9Q : accessed 24 Apr 2014), Nellie Cowell, 01 Aug 1878; citing p 77 rn 283, Galien, Berrien, Michigan, Department of Vital Records, Lansing; FHL microfilm 2363666.
NOTE: We need to find her birth record, or the 1860 and 1870 census for her, in order to be sure which David Frame was her father. There is more than one of the right age who might be her father, the most likely one seems to be the one who married Maria Keltner, and who seems to have lived in Galien, Berrien Co., Michigan. If this is the right couple, then Maria would be Nellie's mother. But I have not been able to find Nellie in any censuses.

BIRTH NOTE: 1850 and 1870 censuses say born Connecticut, 1860 census and death return say born Ohio.
DEATH NOTE: death return does not list a specific date, just the month; parents "Unknown", cause: "old age" "Michigan, Deaths, 1867-1897," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/N3XL-D8G : accessed 25 Apr 2014), Ira Cowell, Nov 1887; citing p 98 rn 113, Galien, Berrien, Michigan, Department of Vital Records, Lansing; FHL microfilm 2363632.
NOTE: A number of people have researched the ancestry of Ira Cowell, but their sources need to be verified before adding any parents for Ira to our tree. Next places to check are birth and death records for him. His death register entry does not have parents, though, so his death certificate, if one can be obtained, is not likely to help.

1900 United States Federal Census
Date: 15 June 1900
Place: Manhattan, New York, New York
Address: 188 Henry & Jefferson Street
Household:
SHATZIN Isaac and Yetta with children Esther, Benjamin, Lena, Samuel, Fannie plus boarder
Hyman Kagan and son (age 18) Max Miller. Max cannot be the son of Isaac and Yetta (both age 30)
unless he was born when they were age 11 (not likely) or (more likely) he may be their son-in-law
and widowed husband of the one child who died by 1900. Except he is listed as Single here.
Another possibility is that Isaac and Yetta were born in 1866 and had first child at age 15.
But 1900 census says they were married 12 years.

1880 United States Federal Census
Date: 21 June 1880
Place: Galien, Berrien, Michigan
Family Number 174:
COURELL, Joe, age 65, Head, Carpenter, Conn Conn Conn
COURELL, Alice, age 65, Wife, Keeping house, Ohio Ohio Ohio
COURELL, Auguste, age 30, Daughter, , Ohio Conn Ohio
COURELL, Ira, age 28, Son, Farmer, Ohio Conn Ohio
COURELL, Hattie, age 7, Daughter, , Mich Conn Ohio
Census Reference: Page 17 handwritten on image, Heritage Quest Source: Series: T9 Roll: 572 Page: 171
Note: This looks like there are major errors on the original record. This clearly is the 1880
Federal Census for Ira COWELL and his daughter Hattie. Ira's wife Nellie had passed away
in 1878. And we have been unable to find either Ira or Hattie in the 1880 census, but it
looks like this is them. More serious, though, are Joe, Alice, and Auguste. The ages and
birthplaces of Joe and Alice match those of Ira's parents, Rachel and Ira COWELL senior.
We know that Ira COWELL senior passed away in 1887, after this census. And it is totally
totally unclear who Auguste is. And there do not seem to be any Joe and Alice COURELL's
or an Auguste COURELL in earlier census records that we can find.

This family tree is an updated replacement copy of the Grossman part of our Feldberg Family Tree at Rootsweb, which was at http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=feldberg, and has now been moved to http://blumstein.tribalpages.com.
Although the tribalpages version of our tree does not have as many people as our updated tree here, it has all the people who were in the original Rootsweb Worldconnect tree, has many graphical views and features, and includes sources as well as ahnentafel, pedigree and descendant reports for those people who were in the original tree.
The URL for that older but feature-rich version of our tree is http://blumstein.tribalpages.com.
